Rich Furstoss was holding on to a slight lead in the A fleet until the first race of last week. He was actually leading in that race but without someone to follow it is sometimes not easy to know the course. He was reminded of that fact after sailing off the race course before crossing the finish line. Then to make matters worse, his boat became increasingly unresponsive in races 2,3 and 4. By race 5 he was out of the water, out of first place, and on his way home. Once there he immediately went to work on finding the problem. 
It took a bit of testing but the answer was found in the sail servo. It could have been gremlins but I would not rule out one of his competitors.
Week 6 of our series is tomorrow afternoon and if Rich took advantage of overnight shipping I suspect that he will be there to try and regain first place in the A fleet.
Tim Follette is leading in the B fleet and Steve Heinzelman leads the C fleet, but neither is so far in front that they can’t be overtaken.
